Dollar changes hands in upper 106 yen range in early trade in Tokyo

TOKYO, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar changed hands in the upper 106 yen range in early deals in Tokyo on Monday, largely in line with its levels late last week in New York.

As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 106.77-78 yen, compared with 106.85-95 yen in New York and 106.76-78 yen at 5 p.m. on Friday in Tokyo.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.0983-0984 dollars and 117.25-32 yen against 1.0974-0984 dollars and 117.31-41 yen in New York, and 1.0971-0972 dollars and 117.13-17 yen in late Friday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
