NEW YORK, June 21 (Xinhua) -- US stocks surged on Monday, buoyed by overall strength in the energy sector.
All the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in green, with energy up 4.29 percent, leading the gains.
US-listed Chinese companies traded roughly flat with five of the top 10 stocks by weight in the S&P US Listed China 50 index ending the day on an upbeat note.
The above market reactions followed a downbeat week on Wall Street as investors assessed the Federal Reserve's policy stance, while digesting the latest economic data.
For the week ending Friday, the Dow slid 3.5 percent, the S&P 500 decreased 1.9 percent and the Nasdaq lost 0.3 percent.
