The suspension will not cover services including cycling, designated driving, public transportation, overseas car rental and used car services, Didi said on its WeChat account.

On August 24, a female passenger using Didi’s Hitch service was killed in east China’s Zhejiang Province, causing public outrage.

Didi will do its best to strictly abide by the safety bottom line, cooperate with authorities on regulatory requirements, and build a normalized safety mechanism with society, Didi said.
