Spiritual Wealth Club, a Shanghai-based company that promotes reading through video and audio book summaries on a mobile app, announced new services for parents and corporate clients on Friday, which marked World Book and Copyright Day.

Founded in 2013 by Fan Deng, a former host of China Central Television, the company is also known as Fan Deng's Book Club and has 35 million app users.

A series of courses on parenting and family education will be taught through video and online discussions on books by experts such as Zhu Yongxin, initiator of the New Education Experiment, and Peng Kaiping, dean of School of Social Sciences at Tsinghua University.

The service for corporate clients will focus on career learning and promoting teamwork.

The company also held a large-scale reading event at Shanghai Oriental Sports Center on Friday evening, where Fan Deng and four guests, actress Huang Shengyi, stand-up comedy performer Wang Siwen, billiard player Pan Xiaoting and philosophy professor Xu Yingjin, shared their reading habits and experiences with 6,000 people.
