BEIJING, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) - Chinese stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.63 percent to end at 2,797.26 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.85 percent lower at 8,902.63 points.

The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, lost 1.01 percent to close at 1,524.36 points on Tuesday.

China's Hushen 300 index futures closed lower on Tuesday, with the contract for August 2019 down 0.33 percent to finish at 3,652.2 points.
