​US stocks open higher amid rallying Boeing shares

NEW YORK, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks opened higher on Tuesday, bolstered by solid gains in Boeing shares.

Shortly after the opening bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 45.43 points, or 0.16 percent, to 28,081.65. The S&P 500 was up 1.57 points, or 0.05 percent, to 3,122.03. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased 22.20 points, or 0.26 percent, to 8,572.14.

Boeing shares advanced 1.35 percent in morning trading, contributing to the market.

Home Depot stock pulled back more than 4 percent on weaker-than-expected same-store sales data for the previous quarter.

Seven of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors rose, with financials and technology outpacing the rest. Energy declined 0.7 percent shortly after the opening, becoming the worst-performing group.

U.S. equities finished higher on Monday after volatile trading as Wall Street is waiting for more updates concerning global trade.
