ANKARA, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- A Turkish senior trade official has announced that Turkey and Mexico have agreed to restart negotiations on Free Trade Agreement, the state-run Anadolu Agency reported Tuesday.

A bilateral meeting recently held with Luz Maria de la Mora, the undersecretary for Foreign Trade of Mexico, has been "very fruitful," said Gonca Yilmaz Batur, Turkey's deputy minister of trade, at the Turkey-Mexico Trade and Investment Seminar.

Hailing the increasing trade volume between the two countries, Batur said she hoped that the economic relation with Mexico could be further strengthened to realize its full potential through more frequent mutual visits and exchanges.

She also revealed that the Turkish Trade Ministry is planning to visit Mexico with a business delegation in autumn.
