BEIJING, June 17 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.96 percent, at 3,316.79 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.48 percent higher at 12,331.14 points.
