China's motorcycle sales jump in September

BEIJING, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- China's motorcycle sales jumped nearly 30 percent year on year in September, data from an industry association showed.
About 1.66 million motorcycles, including three-wheeled motorcycles, were sold last month, up 29.36 percent from a year earlier, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
Over 1.63 million motorcycles were produced during the month, up 27.79 percent year on year, the data showed.
Zhejiang Qjiang Motorcycle, a manufacturer based in east China's Zhejiang Province, forecast a surge of over 30 times in its net profits attributable to shareholders in the third quarter, according to a company filing last week.
In the January-September period, the country's motorcycle sales rose nearly 5 percent year on year to 12.46 million units, 2.95 percentage points higher than the growth for the first eight months of 2019, according to the association.
