NEW YORK, March 31 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended lower on Thursday.

The Dow decreased 1.56 percent to 34,678.35, the S&P 500 fell 1.57 percent to 4,530.41, and the Nasdaq was down 1.54 percent to 14,220.52.
