Chinese shares close lower Wednesday

BEIJING, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- Major Chinese stock indices closed lower Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.78 percent, at 2,911.05 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.82 percent lower at 9,809.05 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 425.94 billion yuan (about 60.74 billion U.S. dollars), expanding from 418.4 billion yuan in the previous trading day.
Most stocks fell, with losers outnumbering gainers by 1,074 to 348 on the Shanghai bourse and 1,569 to 525 in Shenzhen.
Companies in agriculture, forestry, fishery and animal husbandry sectors mostly gained, with stocks of Great-sun Foods Co.,Ltd. surging by 10.031 percent to close at 14.15 yuan per share.
Shares related to warehousing led the losses.
The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.54 percent to close at 1,719.66 points Wednesday.
