The development of three industries significantly balanced. The share of the service sector underwent a substantial increase, playing a stabilizing role for economic growth.

“From the perspective of the contribution rate to economic growth, the value added growth rate of the tertiary industry was 1.8 percentage points faster than that of secondary industry in 2018, contributing 59.7 percent to economic growth, which is 23.6 percentage points higher than that of the secondary industry. This shows that the service sector has further enhanced its role in stimulating economic growth,” Du Xishuang, a senior official at the National Bureau of Statistics, said.
