Chinese stocks closed higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.05 percent to 4,134.02 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.86 percent higher at 14,283 points.
The combined turnover of these two indices totaled around 2.14 trillion yuan (about 308.1 billion U.S. dollars), up from 1.98 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Stocks in the non-ferrous metals and computing power sectors led the gains, while the tourism, retail and liquor-making industries posted the biggest losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 1.32 percent on Thursday to close at 3,328.06 points.
The STAR Composite Index, which reflects the performance of stocks on China's sci-tech innovation board, closed 1.56 percent higher at 1,816.15 points on Thursday.
