HANOI, March 6 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's index of industrial production (IIP) grew 10.4 percent in the first two months of this year, according to a report released by the National Statistics Office (NSO) on Friday.

In February alone, the IIP fell 18.5 percent from the previous month but rose 1 percent year on year, said the NSO.
The processing and manufacturing sector increased 11.5 percent in the period, contributing 8.9 percentage points to the overall rise, while electricity production and distribution grew 6.3 percent and mining expanded 5.4 percent.
Production increased in all 34 localities across the country, according to the NSO.
