BEIJING, March 9 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.67 percent to 4,096.6 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.74 percent lower at 14,067.5 points.
