JAKARTA, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia is poised to begin importing crude oil from Russia within weeks after the two sides iron out final shipping details, the country's Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia said Monday.

Indonesia and Russia had reached an agreement on crude oil purchases and contracts had been signed, with only shipping arrangements remaining before deliveries begin, Bahlil told reporters in Jakarta. "Maybe it can happen within one or two weeks."
The minister did not disclose specific details regarding the value of the agreement or pricing terms.
However, he said the move was part of Indonesia's efforts to diversify energy supply sources and strengthen national energy security amid global market uncertainties.
