China's production and sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) posted year-on-year growth in April, industry data showed on Monday.

The NEV production rose 5.5 percent year-on-year to 1.32 million units, while sales increased 9.7 percent to 1.34 million units, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.

In terms of exports, 430,000 NEVs were exported in April, a year-on-year increase of 1.1 times.
