Themed around the silver economy and healthy living, the four-day expo spans nearly 13,000 square meters and features six themed exhibition zones, bringing together nearly 460 exhibitors showcasing over 10,000 products from home and abroad.
According to the organizers, over 80 supporting activities will be held during the fair, including forums, matching sessions, stage performances, and hands-on workshops.
Che Weng Keong, president of the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) of the Macao SAR, said in his opening remarks that since its inception in 2009, the fair has developed into not only a major economic and trade event under the Guangdong-Macao cooperation framework but also a practical and efficient business cooperation and service platform.
"Last year, when we participated in the event for the first time, we didn't have any market share in Macao. Through this platform, we were able to connect with local customers directly," a Guangdong exhibitor surnamed Lao told Xinhua.
She added that the company hopes to use Macao as a gateway to reach Portuguese-speaking markets in the future.
A protocol signing ceremony was also held at the opening scene, involving various enterprises.
The event is jointly organized by the IPIM and the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province.
