The 28th Pet Fair Asia kicked off in Shanghai on August 19. The five-day fair has expanded to a record-breaking 320,000 square meters of exhibition space, bringing together over 2,600 global exhibitors. With more than half-a-million visitors expected during the event, the fair serves as a powerful engine for sales of pet-related products.

This year's fair features three themes: "Premium Import Pavilion," "Premium Cat Living Hall," and "Pet & Human Living Hall," showcasing high-quality products from nearly 10 international pavilions including New Zealand, the Republic of Korea, the US, Poland, Canada, Thailand, and Japan.

The 2026 Asia Pet Fashion Week is held simultaneously, featuring dozens of new product launches, pet fashion shows, and themed exhibitions.
China's pet economy continues its rapid expansion. According to the 2026 China Pet Industry White Paper (Consumer Report), the country's sales of products for urban pets (dog and cat) reached 312.6 billion yuan (approximately $45.4 billion)in 2025, up 4.1% year-on-year. The number of pet dogs and cats in urban areas hit 126 million, a 1.8% increase from the previous year.
