A new report released at the 2026 World Robot Conference shows China's humanoid robot industry is advancing fast across technology, manufacturing and real-world applications.

The report maps out the industry's development, key technologies and supply chain, with a focus on China, the US, Germany, South Korea and Japan. It also looks at seven major application scenarios where humanoid robots are already making an impact.
Humanoid robots are becoming more intelligent, with improved environmental perception, planning and decision-making, and motion control. Their stability in complex environments is also improving.
China now has full-chain manufacturing capabilities, from key chips and components to complete machines.
The industry is moving from small-scale trials to regular deployment. China shipped more than 40,000 humanoid robots in the first half of 2026, accounting for 97% of the global total, according to the report.
An industry ecosystem is also taking shape, covering standards, talent, international cooperation and innovation infrastructure.
