China's northernmost high-speed railway starts service

HARBIN, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- China's northernmost high-speed railway, running through a region of discontinuous permafrost in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, officially entered service on Monday.

The first train departed from the forest city of Yichun at 10:26 a.m. and is scheduled to arrive in Harbin, the provincial capital, at 12:05 p.m., according to China Railway Harbin Group Co., Ltd.
