PARIS, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- French shares lost on Thursday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 2.11 percent, or 104.24 points, to close at 4,837.42 points.

Of the 40 selected large companies, 37 lost in the day.

French multinational insurance firm AXA lost 4.51 percent. French digital transformation leader Atos and French industrial group Legrand went down by 4.42 percent and 4.10 percent respectively.

European commercial real estate company Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE advanced 14.10 percent. French multinational defense company Safran rose 1.67 percent, and French multinational retailer Carrefour edged up 0.14 percent.
