PARIS, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- French shares tumbled on Wednesday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 3.37 percent, or 159.54 points, to close at 4,571.12 points.

Of the 40 selected large companies, 38 lost in the day.

French multinational automobile manufacturer Renault fell 7.96 percent. European multinational IT service and consulting company Atos lost 7.57 percent. European commercial real estate company Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE went down by 6.53 percent.

French omnichannel company Teleperformance SE edged up 0.51 percent, the only gainer of the blue chips.
