German shares lose 2.49 pct Thursday

FRANKFURT, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- German shares lost on Thursday, with the benchmark DAX index down 324.31 points, or 2.49 percent, to close at 12,703.75 points.

All DAX 30 shares lost today. European health care company Fresenius SE lost the most among the blue chips, down by 3.88 percent, followed by chemical group BASF and pharmaceutical company Merck, which lost 3.71 percent and 3.54 percent respectively.

Multinational software corporation SAP was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 273.58 million euros (320.03 million U.S. dollars).

China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, lost 4.71 percent to close at 0.810 euros per share on Thursday.
