HONG KONG, March 9 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong stocks closed up 232.40 points, or 0.81 percent, to 28,773.23 points on Tuesday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 28,326.13 and 29,047.13. Turnover totaled 275.96 billion Hong Kong dollars (about 35.52 billion U.S. dollars).
