Hong Kong stocks plunge to new three-year low

HONG KONG, March 18 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong stocks nosedived by over 800 points on Wednesday afternoon, refreshing the three-year low.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index opened 1.03 percent lower on Wednesday and plummeted over 3.7 percent to 22,393.87 points during the afternoon trading session, breaking the three-year low of 22,519.32 points recorded on Friday.

Hang Seng China Enterprises Index also fell about 4 percent to 8,833.01 points on Wednesday afternoon.
