Japan's Nikkei stock falls in morning on concerns over Saudi oil attacks

TOKYO, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Japan's benchmark Nikkei stock index lost ground Tuesday morning on concerns over rising costs for crude oil and future supply following drone attacks on Saudi oil facilities over the weekend.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 23.55 points, or 0.11 percent, from Friday to 21,964.74.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 3.92 points, or 0.24 percent, at 1,613.79.

Marine transportation, air transportation and chemical-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.

Markets here were closed Monday for a national holiday.
