RAMALLAH, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- Palestine on Tuesday declared it will start legal actions against the US company Amazon for its discriminatory policy favoring Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

The Palestinian Ministry of Economy said in a press statement that it will begin within days with legal actions against the e-commerce company over its discrimination policy that allows free shipping to Israeli settlements in the West Bank, but not to Palestinian communities.

In November, Amazon began providing free shipping service to Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank for orders worth $49 or more. However, Palestinians in the West Bank, with their addresses in Palestinian territories, need to pay for shipment.

According to the statement, a governmental committee of three Palestinian ministries sent a legal notice to the company, calling on it to immediately retract the policy.
