Italian tiremaker Pirelli & C SpA launched its latest tire product, Cinturato P7, in China, where the tire market is opening up again, and it will shortly follow in other markets based on the demand and economic conditions, the company said in a statement.

One of the drivers behind this move is China's recent policy measures to facilitate domestic auto companies to resume production and enhance cooperation with global suppliers to mitigate the impact caused by the COVID-19 outbreak.

Starting from the previous generation launched in 2009, the Cinturato P7 has been constantly updated and improved thanks to the close partnerships between Pirelli and the world's premium carmakers.

The latest generation of Pirelli Cinturato P7 highlights what the biggest priorities are for today's modern motorists: safety and efficiency. Pirelli's engineers, through an intense program of research and development, have come up with a product featuring high levels of technology able to overcome the typical compromises associated with tires, according to the Milan-based tiremaker.

Another area that Pirelli's engineers have worked on is the tire's capability to talk with existing electronic driver aid systems. In the case of ABS, for example – assuming the same car and tire – a tread pattern optimized to work in synergy with the car's own electronics is able to brake faster.

China will endeavor to stabilize new car sales, loosen purchase restrictions in certain cities and invigorate the used-car market in a bid to unleash the consumption potential for cars, said Wang Bin, deputy director-general of the department of market operation and consumption promotion under the Ministry of Commerce.

As a pillar of the national economy, the auto industry plays a crucial role in boosting domestic consumption and facilitating consumption upgrades.
