BEIJING, July 5 (Xinhua) -- China Evergrande Group, one of the leading developers in China, reported surging sales last month, the company said in a statement.

Its contracted sales in June totaled 76.05 billion yuan (about 10.8 billion U.S. dollars), up 51.3 percent year on year, according to the company.

Its contracted sales in terms of floor area rose 84 percent year on year to 8.55 million square meters in June.

As the outbreak of the novel coronavirus hit the property sector, Evergrande developed an app to provide one-stop services from showcasing houses through virtual reality technology to signing contracts.
