SHANGHAI, March 18 (Xinhua) -- Gold futures opened higher Thursday in daytime trading on the Shanghai Futures Exchange.

The most active gold contract for June 2021 delivery was up 2.98 yuan (about 46 U.S. cents) to open at 368.74 yuan a gram.

China launched gold futures in January 2008.
