SINGAPORE, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going down 0.12 percent, or 3.03 points, to close at 2,525.61.

A total of 1.32 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.25 billion Singapore dollars (about 922.31 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 243 to 182.

The STI index went down 0.59 percent, or 14.93 points, to close at 2,528.64 on Tuesday.
