TOKYO, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks advanced Wednesday morning as Wall Street's solid lead overnight prompted investors to buyback issues oversold following the market's recent rout.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 109.81 points, or 0.47 percent, from Tuesday to 23,325.52.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 3.11 points, or 0.18 percent, at 1,695.39.

Marine transportation, mining and machinery-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break.
