Tokyo stocks advance in morning on buybacks, tech issues rise

TOKYO, April 14 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks advanced Tuesday morning as issues were bought back on dips by bargain hunters, while technology issues gained traction following their U.S. counterparts' solid performance overnight.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 358.92 points, or 1.88 percent, from Monday to 19,402.32.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 13.48 points, or 0.96 percent, at 1,419.39.

Retailer, service and electric appliance issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break. Enditem
