TOKYO, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks advanced Monday morning, with shares here tacking gains on Wall Street late last week on growing optimism about the outlook for trade talks between major economies.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 213.73 points, or 0.92 percent, from Friday to 23,326.61.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 13.16 points, or 0.78 percent, at 1,704.50.

The majority of industry categories moved into positive territory, with iron and steel, and marine transportation issues comprising those that gained the most by the morning break.
