TOKYO, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks advanced Tuesday morning following a positive lead from European markets overnights.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 89.88 points, or 0.42 percent, from Monday to end the morning at 21,272.46.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange gained 5.32 points, or 0.34 percent, to finish at 1,552.32.

Precision instrument, transportation equipment and electric appliance-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break.
