TOKYO, April 27 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks advanced Monday morning as the market mood was buoyed by U.S. shares advancing late last week, with tech issues finding favor after some earnings beat forecasts.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 416.87 points, or 2.16 percent, from Friday to 19,678.87.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 15.57 points, or 1.10 percent, at 1,436.86.

Marine transportation, nonferrous metal and electric appliance-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break.
