TOKYO, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks ended higher Wednesday on the back of Wall Street's record closing highs overnight.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 64.45 points, or 0.28 percent, from Tuesday to close the day at 23,437.77.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 5.27 points, or 0.31 percent, to finish at 1,710.98.

Mining, nonferrous metal, and electric power and gas-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the close of play.
