TOKYO, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed lower Thursday as the market mood was soured by US shares retreating overnight, with investors remaining concerned over the future course of the global economy.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 97.72 points, or 0.46 percent, from Wednesday to close the day at 21,032.00.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, fell 12.72 points, or 0.82 percent, to finish at 1,541.50.
Oil and coal product, marine transportation and securities house-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the close of play.
