TOKYO, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened higher Monday as investor sentiment was bolstered by Wall Street's record closing highs late last week amid hopes for key international trade talks.

As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 54.69 points, or 0.23 percent, from Friday to 23,446.56.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 5.59 points, or 0.33 percent, at 1,708.36.

Warehousing and harbor transportation service, precision instrument, and pulp and paper-oriented issues comprised those that gained the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
