TOKYO, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) - Tokyo stocks opened higher Thursday, with the market mood buoyed by some positive corporate earnings reports in the United States which sent Wall Street higher overnight.

As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 110.55 points, or 0.49 percent, from Wednesday to 22,735.93.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 7.55 points, or 0.46 percent, at 1,645.69.
Rubber product, pharmaceutical and mining-linked issues comprised those that gained the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
