TOKYO, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened lower Tuesday on concerns of a possible global economic slowdown, but losses were trimmed by an upbeat showing on Wall Street overnight following solid corporate earnings results and positive U.S. factory activity.

As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 58.67 points, or 0.26 percent, from Monday to 22,913.27.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, shed 1.01 points, or 0.06 percent, at 1,671.65.

Farm and fishery, metal product and marine transportation-linked issues comprised those that declined the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
