Tokyo stocks open lower on Wall Street's sluggish overnight lead

TOKYO, April 26 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened lower Friday following Wall Street closing mixed overnight, with US stocks pressured following disappointing company earnings reports.

As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 182.41 points, or 0.82 percent, from Thursday to 22,125.17.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, fell 12.82 points, or 0.79 percent, at 1,607.46.

Miscellaneous product, oil and coal product, and metal product-linked issues comprised those that declined the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
