Tokyo stocks track US shares lower

TOKYO, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks lost ground Wednesday morning after inheriting a weak lead from Wall Street overnight.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 29.33 points, or 0.12 percent, from Tuesday to 23,509.77.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, fell 7.10 points, or 0.43 percent, at 1,651.00.

Bank, oil and coal product and rubber product issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
