Tokyo stocks track Wall Street lower overnight amid concerns over pandemic

TOKYO, July 8 (Xinhua) - Tokyo stocks opened lower Wednesday, following Wall Street's negative lead overnight, as concerns continue about the outlook for the global economy amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the opening minutes after the morning bell, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average fell 68.60 points, or 0.30 percent, from Tuesday to 22,546.09.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, shed 1.09 points, or 0.07 percent, at 1,570.62.
Real estate, air transportation and mining issues comprised early notable decliners.
