Washington (People's Daily) -- The US Senate approved a $484 billion emergency relief plan on Tuesday afternoon, with $310 billion going to small businesses affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

In addition, the plan would provide $75 billion to US hospitals and $25 billion to expand programs related to novel coronavirus infection testing.

The bill passed the Senate by voice vote.

Next, the House of Representatives is expected to vote on the bill on Thursday.

President Trump had already voiced his support for the bill before the Senate vote.
