Beijing, (People's Daily app) – NASDAQ-listed Xunlei Networking technologies (Xunlei) announced Tuesday that the company has urged Xunlei Bigdata to cease using its trademark.

Xunlei says that it invested in Xunlei Bigdata in August 2016. In December, Xunlei's share in Xunlei Bigdata dropped to 28.77 percent and led to its losing its board seat. As such, Xunlei said it no longer authorizes Xunlei Bigdata and its subsidiaries to use the Xunlei trademark.

Xunlei Bigdata contains Xunlei finance, also known as Fengniao finance, Xunleiyidai (Xunlei easy loan) and Xunlei small games. Earlier, Xunlei finance said Xunlei is a shareholder of Xunlei Bigdata, and that the use of the Xunlei trademark and logo are protected and authorized by law.

Xunlei (NASDAQ: XNET) share prices dropped 15.66 percent percent in the US in a single day because of the dispute. Xunlei and Xunlei Bigdata are two separate companies, though they share the name "Xunlei."
