"China-phobia and paranoia" is a dangerous disease, but not incurable, Hua Chunying, spokesperson of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), said on Thursday at a daily press conference.

She made the remarks in response to two articles recently published in Australian Financial Review and Foreign Affairs magazine respectively, criticizing the China-phobia psyche in the West.

"It requires abandoning the zero-sum Cold War mentality and upholding equality and mutual respect. Embracing openness and achieving mutual benefit and win-win results will be vast, but if you continue to keep your feet on the ground, and avoid seeking medical treatment, it will only end up doing endless harm," Hua said.
