'Comfort women' memorial day marked in Nanjing

"Comfort women" is a euphemism for women and girls forced into sex slavery by the Japanese during World War II. Some 400,000 women in Asia were forced to serve as "comfort women" during the war, nearly half of whom were Chinese. Japanese forces opened a brothel for soldiers in Liji Alley at the end of 1937.
