The 2018 "Far East Cup" International Regatta has wrapped up in Qingdao, Shandong Province, with a Russian team claiming its third successive championships on Sunday.

The 23-day event began on September 1st, with six teams from China, Russia and South Korea participating. South Korea took 2nd this year, while the team from China finished in 3rd.

The event involved sailing from Qingdao to the Russian port city of Vladivostok.

Head of Chinese Yachting Association says the event helps create more ties among sailing communities in the region.

In addition, the governments of Qingdao and Vladivostok signed a MOU on international sailing this year in a bid to push forward cooperation between China and Russia.
